Amplifiers

Bass guitars have pickups (a type of inbuilt microphone) and need to be plugged into an amplifier (amp) to be heard. There are two main types of amplifiers.

1. Combo – which has a combined amplifier and speaker cabinet.

2. Stack – which has a separate amplifier “head” and speaker box.
